La mia esperienza in Turchia devo dire che ha superato le mie aspettative; i miei dieci giorni nella mia host family ad Izmir sono stati tutti volti all’insegna della scoperta del cibo, della cultura e della vita quotidiana di uno studente medio turco: sempre in giro, sempre in viaggio per scoprire e conoscere luoghi e persone sempre nuove, infatti con un po’ di tristezza ho lasciato la mia host family il giorno dell’accoglienza al campo.I dieci giorni successivi sono stati un turbinio di emozioni e scoperte con un campo volto a farci conoscere non solo la realtà dei Lions locali, ma soprattutto le bellezze culturali e naturali tra Kusadasi ed Antalya con attività molto interessanti e variegate: mi ricorderò sempre della mattinata passata a fare rafting su un fiume tra le montagne o la giornata spesa in barca tra un mare fantastico, sole e tuffi, se si vuole una nota un po’ negativa a mio parere può essere stata l’eccessiva richiesta di foto, in quelle occasioni mi sono sentito più un oggetto da esposizione che altro, ma nonostante ciò l’esperienza è stata magnifica.

Anche per quanto riguarda la gestione del gruppo devo dire che mi sono trovato piacevolmente soddisfatto, poiché ci è stata lasciata molta libertà che ci ha permesso di fare gruppo fin da subito, tanto che già al terzo giorno sembrava di conoscerci da mesi anche se si è sentita un po’ la mancanza di uno staff un po’ più giovane.
In conclusione, la mia è stata un’esperienza fantastica che consiglio a tutti di provare perché la Turchia e le sue persone sono tutte un mondo bellissimo da scoprire ed assaporare.

My Turkish experience I cannot define as less as fantastic; my ten days in the host family in Izmir were directed to the discovery of food, culture and the incredible hospitality of Turkish people, they incredibly warm and welcoming, in that I found something very similar to Italy and actually it wasn’t really  difficult to adapt to that environment. My days were spent, as much as I understood, as a typical Turkish student during summer so travelling, meeting with friends, visiting the country and spending as much as it is possible in the sea; thanks to my host sister I met a lot of incredible and lovely people I’m still in touch with and I hope to visit again one day.
It is not without a little bit of sadness that I said goodbye to my host sister to start the other awesome part of travell in Turkey, the Camp. What I found impressive was that we got along very quickly and the staff let us the liberty to do so, which, from my experience, is very important; the program of the camp was still directed to let us discover not only the Lions of the district, but also the fantastic cultural and natural environment between Kusadasi and Antalya. Activities were multiple and vary, which is something that let us never get bored but free time was never cut, we had plenty; thanks to that we had a lot of time to create the group and solidify our friendship, intact after few days together it seemed we had been knowing each other for months. So to make it short, the camp was beautiful and pretty well organised, but I found a couple of things that annoyed me a little bit: we made so many group pictures that at a certain point it seemed we were just something to show (but I can understand that), the other thing is that there was a lack of young staff members.
In conclusion, my experience was mind-blowing and I really suggest to try it out because Turkey and Turkish people are a world all to be discovered and you won’t be disappointed.
