My experience in the United States (Colorado) was awesome!
My flights were great, thanks to the association "La Specola", suggested me by my lions district: I had no problems.
When I arrived there, I was pretty scared by meeting my family: I've already texted them, but I wasn't sure they were as they looked to be.
Actually, they were better than I expected: Michael and Valerie thought about me as another daughter and their three crazy boys were so cute!
Since the beginning everything was super: I had the freedom to stay with one girl from Germany I met in the airport during the mornings when my host parents were working so I wasn't annoyed, but also I went out some evenings with the other guys who would have been with me during the camp, just doing some typical stuff like the bonfire and the rodeo (Vicky, Steve and Rachel were very kind and funny, too).

Talking again about my family, they made me visit all Colorado, taking me everywhere: I wished to go to the Rocky Mountains, to Denver and to Vail and I spent a lot of time in everyone of these places!
My dream to go to Vail became true thanks to them!
I spent some times also with the rest of their family, like their parents for example, and it was awesome to see their customs!
But even if they were a sort of "old generation", we shared a lot of passions and they were so kind with me: at the end of my holiday Michael's mum brought me a book of Colorado as a present, and Valerie's mum helped me in doing a scrapbook!
Yeah, I think that staying with them was the best part of my experience!
A little bit worse was my camp, actually: I didn't expect a four-stars hotel, also because I knew we were in a forest, but at least the floor and the showers could have been more cleaned...
Also the activities weren't planned in a good way: we were free to do everything we wanted during the evenings, ok, but there was nothing to do in the forest! I think it was the camp leaders' fault, but just because it was the first time they worked with the lions exchange guys.
Even though I enjoyed my time also there, because I met a lot of cool guys and I got in touch with different cultures, that was the main aim of my trip. I'm so crazy about this exchange, because in a few weeks I'm going to see again some of the guys from Europe I met in the camp and my host family told me they would come to visit me soon, because they really think about me as another daughter and my little brothers are missing me, so I'm really looking forward to seeing them again!
